Playwrights will work independently on their play throughout the year and, with the Artistic Director, have one-on-one dramaturgical sessions on an as needed basis. Two playwright retreats will be scheduled over the course of the year wherein the scripts will be read aloud and discussed. For playwrights from out of province attendance is strictly optional. The Groundswell Festival is a culmination of eight months of work and the playwrights will workshop the script with professional director and actors leading up to the public Groundswell readings.
