Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) and CADA-ON present:

  • Choreographing Your Future: Transferable Skills for Dancers (1pm– 3pm) with Joanna Mackie and Margot Collins, DTRC Career Counsellors
  • Skills for Communicating & Preventing Conflict  (3:15pm – 5pm) with Elizabeth Chitty, Executive Director of CADA-ON

THE IMPACT OF INJURY ON DANCERS (10am- 4pm)  A holistic approach to pain, prevention & career longevity
presented by the DTRC and the Artists’ Health Centre Foundation (AHCF) with Ginette Hamel, Physiotherapist
Dr. Jean Jacques Dugoua, Naturopathic Doctor and Dr. Anita Shack, Chiropractor

This full-day workshop will help dancers prevent and cope with injuries from a physical, nutritional and emotional perspective. Participants will explore exercises to increase strength and stability and learn what to do in the first 24 hours of injury. Naturopathic support and stress management tools will encourage a balanced approach to dealing with injury.

Monday, June 1st

BUILDING CONFIDENCE & SELF-ESTEEM (6:30pm – 9pm) Creative tools for self-care presented by the Artists’ Health Centre Foundation (AHCF) with Dr. Anita Shack and Ruth Bittorf, N.P.

This interactive clinic will discuss the importance of self-esteem. Participants will explore exercises to help define, develop and maintain a healthy self-image. Factors contributing to the artists’ perception of self worth will be considered.
