TDT’s dancers inhabit Up Until Now with astonishing presence, keeping us on the edge of our seats with the collective power of their performance. Up Until Now is full of surprising contrasts: playful, poetic, often funny and sometimes deeply moving.  “…movements are so basic and pure they seem like philosophical statements” – NOW Magazine.

There are two audition categories for Toronto Youth Theatre’s production of A CHORUS LINE:

DANCE CORPS AUDITION
The TYT Dance Corps allows the opportunity for performers with a strong interest in dance to take part in TYT shows. The Dance Corps audition consists of an hour-long session with our choreographer in which skill and performance will be assessed. Those auditioning for the Dance Corps need not complete an individual audition in singing and acting. A limited number of participants will be chosen for the Dance Corps. The Dance Corps will be incorporated as featured dancers in the production, and will serve as Dance Captains for the entire cast.

INDIVIDUAL ROLE AUDITIONS
Part 1:
Group “Dance” Call
In our Group “Dance” Call, all performers scheduled for appointments will start the day by taking part in an hour-long session with our choreographer to learn a dance combination from the show and will be assessed. We have found that this allows performers of all different dance levels to feel comfortable and creates a highly-energized dynamic within the group.

Part 2:
Individual Appointments for SINGING & ACTING
Please prepare:
A Musical Theatre or Pop Song selection – 24-36 bars up-tempo preferred

And
