Call for Submissions: Pitch New Works Now, The International Society for the Performing Arts

For the first time in fifteen years ISPA – The International Society for the Performing Arts –will be holding its international Congress in Toronto, June 15 – 18, 2011. Toronto Arts Council’s ED Claire Hopkinson is Co-Chair of the Congress, along with Jennifer Gordon and Mervon Mehta, leading a local organizing committee comprised of many of Toronto‘s performing arts organizations.

ISPA is a network of performing arts professionals who come together with the shared goal of strengthening the arts internationally by building leadership ability, recognizing and discussing field-wide trends and deepening global exchange through the arts.

The 2011 ISPA conference “Groundbreaking” will host an important showcase opportunity PITCH NEW WORKS NOW. PITCH demonstrations will be presented to an international audience representing more than 30 countries around the world, including some of the world’s most significant presenting organizations, independent artists, performing arts organizations, artist managers, cultural policy groups, foundations, consultants, and many others.

To participate in PITCH, registration for the conference is not required; however, for those interested in attending the ISPA conference, registration will be open in March and available on the ISPA website.
Application and Selection Process

Candidates should download and complete the Pitch New Works Now Application Form and submit all required material by Friday, March 25, 2011.  This is a final deadline, no extensions or late submissions will be accepted.  All material should be submitted in English and ISPA regrets that the application materials will not be returned.  Applications will be reviewed by the 2011 ISPA Pitch Committee: Lieven Bertels (Holland Festival), Linda Brumbach (Pomegranate Arts), and Chris Lorway (Luminato).  Candidates will be notified of their application status by Friday, April 15, 2011.

To apply, assemble a complete application in this order:

(1) Pitch New Works Now application form – found above, and
(2) all requested material in Section IV of the application in a single Adobe PDF document.
