Call for Submissions: Fresh Ideas In Puppetry, Puppetmongers

PUPPETMONGERS is seeking submissions for the 4th annual
FRESH IDEAS IN PUPPETRY DAY
In Toronto on June 5th, 2011.

FRESH IDEAS IN PUPPETRY is a full day convivial gathering with a focus on exploring advances in puppetry, such as newly devised technical inventions and improvements, recent research discoveries, original creation processes, or novel ways of integrating puppetry into other artistic disciplines and media.

Submissions for the day-time portion of the event may be papers, presentations (live or video), show-and-tells, panel and round table proposals, or other formats with a suggested length of a half hour to one and a half hours.

For the evening cabaret, with MC Ronnie Burkett, we are seeking showcase length (approx max 15 minute) works in progress or excerpts of recently completed works.  Please note, technical facilities are minimal and there is no opportunity for rehearsal on site.

All presenters will receive a small honorarium, as well as free access to both the daytime and evening portions of the programming (a $100 value).

Submissions should contain a brief, one paragraph description of your proposal, along with a short bio, as well as complete contact information (name, address, telephone and e-mail address).

The deadline for proposals is Friday, May 6th.
Please submit your idea to info@puppetmongers.com.  Successful applicants will be contacted in early May.

Nothing to propose this time but interested in attending?  Visit www.fresh-puppetry.eventbrite.com for details and to reserve your spot.
