Workshops: Professional Development Workshops, Canadian Dance Assembly

Generously funded by the Ontario Arts Council, the Canadian Dance Assembly (CDA) is pleased to offer professional development workshops in partnership with the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC), the Dance Umbrella of Ontario (DUO) and the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) – with the support of, Creative Trust and CCI – Ontario Presenting Network.

February 22 – Marketing and Audience Development

Cost:

  • 1 workshop: $35 *members/clients, $50 non-members
  • 2 workshops:  $65 members/clients, $95 non-members
  • 4 workshops:  $120 members/clients, $180 non-members

Following each workshop, participants will have the opportunity to socialize with one another in order to deepen conversations, ask questions or meet new colleagues.  Then, head over to a theatre nearby and enjoy a local performance at a discounted rate.  Once participants sign up for the workshop they will be given instructions on how to access this exclusive offer!

February 22: Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, Les cheminements de l’influence (Pathways of Influence) – The Citadel
The acclaimed Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie (CLC) presents the world premiere of Les cheminements de l’influence (Pathways of Influence), a striking solo dance work created and performed by CLC co-Artistic Director Laurence Lemieux as a tribute to her father, eminent political scientist and sociologist Vincent Lemieux.

February 29: Toronto Dance Theatre, Four at the Winch Quebec  – Winchester Theatre
Toronto Dance Theatre presents the eleventh installment of this popular choreographic showcase featuring new works by Montreal-based choreographers Estelle Clareton, Lina Cruz, Deborah Dunn and Jean-Sébastien Lourdais.

March 2-4: Moonhorse Dance Theatre’s Older & Reckless – The Citadel
The 25th edition of Older & Reckless will be at The Citadel, the newly renovated home of Coleman Lemieux in the heart of Toronto’s dance district on Parliament St. Distinguished and ever reckless artists include Davida Monk, Serge Bennathan, and an appearance by beloved Toronto Dance Theatre founder David Earle. O & R also features an exciting sneak peak at Cloud 9- Sylvie Bouchard, Karen Kaeja and Claudia Moore- in a trio-in-progress by acclaimed choreographer, Susie Burpee.

March 7th: Soulpepper, High Life – Young Centre for the Performing Arts
In Lee MacDougall’s internationally celebrated black comedy, the most unlikely bunch of masterminds plan “the perfect crime” with dangerous, gripping and hilarious results.

March 14th: Jasmyn Fyffe Dance, Interlock – Winchester Theatre
A dynamic mixed program of six works, including three world premieres, this spirited concert displays versatility, talent and a unique execution that you don’t want to miss.
