Soulpepper Theatre Company is searching for four (4) non-Equity, non-Actra children for our upcoming production of A Christmas Carol, directed by Michael Shamata. Candidates should prepare a short poem or nursery rhyme for the audition.
Rehearsals begin November 19, 2012 and performances will take place from December 3 through to December 29, 2012. Please note rehearsals may conflict with school hours; however, we will try our best to maximize rehearsals outside of school hours.
We encourage submissions from actors of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Youth actors will be chaperoned during all rehearsals and performances. Parents/guardians are expected to drop off and pick up their child to and from the Young Centre for all rehearsals and performances.
ROLES:
Tiny Tim/Ebenezer as a child:
- 8 years old (or small 9-10), male
- strong voice and ability to project; should be able to sing
- able to perform with both Upper and Lower Class British accents
Belinda/Little Fan:
- 8 years old (or small 9-10), female
- strong voice and ability to project
- able to perform with both Upper and Lower Class British accents
Peter:
- 12 – 15, male
- some stage experience
- able to perform with Lower Class British accent
Martha:
- 14 – 16, female
- some stage experience
- able to perform with Lower Class British accent
