Volunteer: Call for Volunteers, Shakespeare in the Ruff

Shakespeare in the Ruff is the newest addition to Toronto’s annual summer Shakespeare Companies and we need your help. Come to Withrow Park this summer and be a part of our first season as we launch our inaugural adaptation of The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

All volunteers are welcome to enjoy Ruff’s show from a comfortable seat, have a chance to meet our artists, and work with a dedicated team of other enthusiastic people who want to help build Riverdale’s and Toronto’s cultural community. If you’re interested in volunteering for Ruff, please send an email to info@shakespeareintheruff.com with your name, contact information, and interested availability from August 15 to September 2. We’re looking for Front of House help, for more information… keep reading:

Front of House – Usher
The usher is the first person a patron meets and is the first person a patron seeks when they are in need of help. We ask that our ushers be friendly, receptive, and available to all of our patrons, young and old. Specific duties include:

  • Seating patrons
  • Providing each member of the audience with a program.
  • Helping to set up and strike the audience area each night.
  • Attending to patron’s needs as they arise.
  • Inserting flyers into programs.
  • Reporting to the Front of House Manager.

For Ruff, ushers are important ambassadors to the Riverdale community. They’re the first and last smile an audience member sees when they come to our show. For more information on Two Gentlemen of Verona, the company and our endeavours visit http://www.shakespeareintheruff.com
