Internship: Marketing and PR Intern, Nightwood Theatre

MENTOR: Rebecca Peirson, Director of Marketing and Audience Development / Company Publicist

Rebecca develops Nightwood Theatre’s seasonal promotional, marketing and PR plans and budgets. She develops strategies to maintain and develop audiences, and is the company publicist. Rebecca is involved in the creation and distribution of all marketing materials, manages electronic communiqué and coordinates group events.

COMMITTMENT:

  • October 15, 2012 to February 15, 2013 (4 months)
  • Part-Time
  • 1 – 2 days per week

REQUIRED SKLLS:

  • Online research abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel & Word – graphic design skills a bonus
  • Strong communication skills (phone, email, etc)
  • Basic database entry skills

POTENTIAL TASKS:

  • Research – online, print publications, etc (outreach, promotional opportunities, new target groups, press contacts…)
  • Assist in setting up promotions (organize promo details with partner retailer or organization, contests, etc)
  • Assemble press kits and media binders
  • Organize and distribute marketing materials
  • Assist with group events (set up for event, liaise with key contacts, be an ambassador for Nightwood)
  • Database entry and upkeep
