Have you ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes at one of Canada’s most celebrated theatre companies? Here’s your chance to pull back the curtain and discover what really takes place back-stage at the Festival Theatre. As part of Culture Days, The Shaw presents Behind-the-Scenes@the Shaw Festival, a one-hour tour through the state-of-the-art production facility on September 29 and 30, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Explore the Wardrobe and Wigs Department, step inside an actor’s dressing room and tour the rehearsal halls — where all theatrical journeys at The Shaw begin. Ever wonder what really happens when something ‘disappears’ on stage? Step beneath the stage and all will be revealed. The Shaw’s talented production crew will also demonstrate how they prepare show props and change-over the stage from an evening to a matinee performance.

About Culture Days
Culture Days is a collaborative Canada-wide volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Culture Days was inspired by Quebec’s annual Journées de la culture, founded in 1997 and the success of Alberta Arts Days (now Alberta Culture Days), founded in 2008. The 2012 Culture Days Weekend will take place September 28, 29 and 30 across Canada.
