The Lower Ossington Theatre is holding auditions for replacements and swings for the December/January remount of their successful production of Avenue Q opening December 13.
Looking to cast the following roles:
- Princeton/Rod: Male, strong puppeteer, two distinct characters, tenor.
- Kate/Lucy: Female, strong puppeteer, two distinct characters, mezzo-sop.
- Niki/Trekkie/Bad Idea Bear: Male, strong puppeteer, several distinct characters, bari-tenor
- Mrs. T/Bad Idea Bear/ Secondary puppeteer: Female, strong puppeteer, distinct character voices required, mezzo.
- Christmas Eve: Female, asian, not a puppeteer, strong mezzo-soprano.
- Gary Coleman: Female playing a man, black, not a puppeteer, strong mezzo.
Please send headshots and resumes to auditions@lowerossingtontheatre.com with “Avenue Q” as the subject. Auditions will be held the Wednesday the 24th of October and Thursday the 25th of October. Those auditioning will be asked to prepare two contrasting songs in a musical theatre or pop style and a short comedic monologue. If you are auditioning for a puppet character please bring some sort of puppet (even a sock puppet is fine) and be prepared to present at least one piece with the puppet.
