The Centre for Social Innovation will be opening its Regent Park location in September 2012! This new space is ideal for nonprofits, social enterprises, freelancers, consultants, creative types and other small organizations with a social mission. If you are potentially interested in becoming a tenant, fill out the Expression of Interest form here. Those who want to be considered as part of the first round in the selection process must have their Expressions of Interest completed by May 15.

CSI Regent Park will occupy 10,000 square feet on the third floor of the new Regent Park Arts & Cultural Centre (RPACC) at 585 Dundas Street East. CSI Regent Park will become home to a diverse cross-section of social mission organizations and individuals who are coming together to share ideas, resources, advice and inspiration.

We are looking for a rehearsal space for our upcoming production of “The Neverending Story”  which will premiere at Young People’s Theatre on February 27th 2012. You can find more info about the production on our website.

We require a space with a minimum of 50 feet wide by 30 feet deep and 16 feet high (ideally 20 feet) exclusively between February 4th to February 19th and a couple of days the week before to set up the set and work out the technical details.   A gymnasium or large stage would be ideal.

Space for Rent: Wychwood Theatre, Theatre Direct Canada

Theatre Direct Canada’s Wychwood Theatre is available to rent for rehearsals and productions.  This new facility is located in the Artscape Wychwood Barns just minutes from St. Clair and Bathurst.  This naturally lit 100 seat theatre is fully equipped with new theatre equipment, blackout drapes, semi-sprung hardwood flooring and fully accessible facilities.

Space for Rent: The Creation Lab Now Open, Toronto Fringe

The Creation Lab is the new home of the Toronto Fringe and the indie arts community.  The Lab consists of two studio spaces and the new Fringe admin office, both housed on the 4th floor of the Centre for Social Innovation at Bathurst & Bloor in the Annex.  The studios are available for anyone to rent at anytime to do whatever they want.  They can be rented at various levels of subsidy, on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The studios are already a buzzing arts hub, with over 1000 hours of creation time booked, and are available all hours of the day and night. Artists have already been pouring in and working on a variety of projects, including:

• Pleiades Theatre
• The Cowgirl Choir
• Touch My Stereotype (TMS)
• Kemi Projects
• Litmus Theatre

WHY THE CREATION LAB IS DIFFERENT…
The Creation Lab is more than just a studio!  It is an affordable, accessible and transparent creation space where ideas and artists can flourish and cross-pollinate.  For indie artists, budgets are tiny and resources are scarce, so we at the Fringe have created a space that is conducive to the work you do.  Whether that means offering you studio space in the early hours of the morning or introducing you to like-minded artists, we are committed to making the Creation Lab a lively, accessible arts space.

WHO CAN USE THE CREATION LAB…
The Creation Lab is accessible to all organizations and individuals for all sorts of purposes, including but not limited to rehearsals, meetings, classes, seminars, workshops, performances, parties, fundraisers, and community events.

Organizations with annual operating budgets of $250,000 or less are eligible for our Time in Space Subsidy program, which is a program that intends to take the pressure off small and mid-sized arts organizations and non-profits by offering affordable space.  If you believe you are eligible for the Time in Space subsidy program, click here to view our rates.
