Are you someone who enjoys adventure, fun and playfulness? Do you like variety and challenge, not only in your life, but also in your workout? Then Nia might just be right for you!  Nia is an energizing cardiovascular fitness practice which creatively blends elements of dance, martial arts and healing arts (yoga).


Jennifer Hicks lives and works in Toronto as a Nia (Creative Movement) instructor. She also runs a private practice in Speech-Language Pathology, specializing in traumatic brain injury. Jennifer holds a Nia Brown Belt certification and earned her Masters of Health Science at the University of Toronto. In her Nia practice, Jennifer works with adults who vary in age, fitness, mental/cognitive status and physical ability. She customizes the experience based on the group, and has worked with those dealing with:  cancer, traumatic brain injury, bipolar disorder, rheumatoid arthritis, pulmonary disease, eating disorders, schizophrenia, cerebral palsy, laryngectomy, mobility restrictions (e.g., wheelchair/walker/cane), visual challenges and psychosocial difficulties.
