LITTLE BLACK AFRO PRODUCTIONS IS LOOKING FOR A STAGE MANAGER!

Little Black Afro Productions is a community of young emerging artists providing unique opportunities to present original Canadian work. Running from March 30 – April 6 the play “Muse” written by local artist Veronica Appia will be produced as a part of the “Emerging Artists Project.” It is an exciting, contemporary “Gallery Theatre” piece that will explore the nature of creation. We are looking for a vibrant, young stage manager to help make this dream become a reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Attending rehearsals
  • Noting all blocking and movement on stage
  • Organizing the acquisition of set, props and costume
  • Documenting all requirements for the show
  • Calling all tech cues and running the show during show week
  • Scheduling
  • Communicating with the director and actor during rehearsals

Qualifications:

  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • a sharp eye for detail
  • a sense of humour and the ability to stay calm in a crisis
  • people skills
  • computer skills and awareness of current technologies
  • the ability to work under pressure, especially in the run-­‐up to a performance
  • problem-­‐solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
