Call for Submissions: The Visual Fringe and Alleyplays, Toronto Fringe Festival

After a hugely successful 25th anniversary, we are back for another round of Visual Fringe and AlleyPlays (now called the Visual Fringe Shed and Tent Show).  We are calling all visual, performance and theatre artists who want to be a central part of the revelry at the Fringe Club 2014.  Because without you, the Fringe Club is just a parking lot!

Once again the alleyway and parking lot behind Honest Ed’s will be transformed into a vibrant pedestrian art-market where Visual Fringe artists will tempt thousands of passers-by to linger and shop, while theatre artists transform sheds and tents into perfect venues for innovative micro plays.  We expect around 35, 000 people to pass through the Fringe Club over the duration of the festival.

As with all things Fringe, you get to keep 100% of what you make, and so long as it’s legal, we do not interfere with your art.

Due to the overwhelming number of applications and immense popularity of the Visual Fringe and Alley Plays in 2013, we are switching from a first-come-first-served application method to a lottery.  Lottery categories include:

  • Visual Fringe Half Tent
  • Visual Fringe Full Tent
  • Visual Fringe Shed Show (formerly AlleyPlays)
  • Visual Fringe Tent Show (formerly AlleyPlays)

The lottery will be open February 12-26, 2014.  We will live stream the lottery on Feb 28, 2014 from Fringe headquarters.
