Call for Submissions: Barbara Hamilton Award, TAPA

TAPA is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Barbara Hamilton Award.

Established in 1996 in recognition of the canon of work that was Barbara Hamilton’s career, this award is presented to Canadian artist who demonstrates excellence in the performing arts and is dedicated to advocating and being an ambassador for the arts in Canada.

The Award is administered by the City of Toronto with calls for nominations sent out from TAPA. The award comes with a cheque for $1,000 and a scroll from the City of Toronto. The winner is announced at the press conference with the season’s Dora Award nominations.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to nominate an individual for the Barbara Hamilton Award, please supply the following information:

  • Nominator’s Name, Title, Company, Phone and Email Address
  • Name of Nominee
  • Nominee’s Bio
  • Headshot or Photograph of the Nominee (if possible)
  • Cover Letter (Why you feel that the nominee should receive the Barbara Hamilton Award, up to 2 pages)

Deadline for nominations: Thursday April 17, 2014 Late submissions will not be accepted

About TAPA
TAPA was originally formed in 1977 and officially incorporated in 1979. Then known as the ‘Toronto Theatre Alliance’, the organization was much smaller, and has since grown substantially. At the end of our last fiscal year, the membership consisted of 190 members. The large membership reflects the diversity of Toronto, and while that diversity is our strength, it also challenges our focus and our effectiveness. To better understand the broad spectrum of needs to the various TAPA membership categories, TAPA has introduced and established a number of active committees that have member representation, and help us to build a solid foundation from which to launch new initiatives.
