Thanks to the recently confirmed increased support of TD Bank Group, Driftwood Theatre is conducting a last-minute search for an Assistant Director to work with director D. Jeremy Smith on THE TEMPEST and with the company’s Creative Roots program from June 16 – July 13.
Driftwood Theatre is searching for an Assistant Director for the upcoming Bard’s Bus Tour production of The Tempest, directed by D. Jeremy Smith, to begin work immediately and extend until July 13, 2014.
This valuable opportunity is suitable for young directors either early in their careers or still in study (preferably in post-secondary theatre direction training).
In addition to auditing and contributing daily in rehearsals for The Tempest, the Assistant Director will participate in Driftwood’s Creative Roots Theatre Training Intensive, attending classes in voice, movement and singing, while helping program participants to prepare for the presentation of their work.
In addition to mentorship opportunities with Artistic Director D. Jeremy Smith and access to Driftwood artists, additional outreach and educational components of the position will include tickets to Toronto theatre productions and invitations to special events.
The Assistant Director position is a full-time, paid position beginning on June 16 and running to July 13.
