Workshop: Master Class in Dynamic Creation, Theatre Gargantua

Master Class in Dynamic Creation
Book Now – Aug 18 – 21

Theatre Gargantua and Dynamic Creation
Theatre Gargantua creates dynamic, original multi-disciplinary theatre while exploring processes and developing new techniques for the creation of live performance. Over the course of 20 years we have honed an evolving methodology for developing ensemble-based works incorporating music, movement, text and the innovative use of technologies. We support a broad network of artists seeking tools and methodology to push the boundaries of what theatre can be.

Our 4 – Day Master Class in Dynamic Creation
Gargantua’s annual master class provides artists training to empower and enrich their work as performer-creators. The program explores distinct compositional tools from our Dynamic Creation model in a supportive, energetic, ensemble-like environment. Participants will generate music, movement and text that will be structured into new performance elements.

Led by our Distinguished Artists
The Master Class invites local, national, and international performers to train with three of our distinguished artists: Founder & Artistic Director Jacquie PA Thomas, Performer and Associate Artistic Director Michael Spence, and long-time Core Member Diane Niec.

Theatre Gargantua
Gargantua’s productions have been presented on some of Toronto’s most prestigious stages including the Royal Alexandra Theatre. The company has toured nationally and internationally including residencies at the Riverside Studios in London and the Royal Exchange in Manchester, and has received over 30 awards and nominations for categories including: Outstanding Production, Direction, New Play, Music, Scenic and Lighting Designs.
