Announcement: Crowd-Funding Campaign Launched for City-Wide Arts App, TAPA

The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced today a new crowd-funding initiative to help support a new city-wide Arts APP. Using the new FWYC (Fund What You Can) platform launched through the Toronto Fringe Festival, TAPA aims to raise $ 7000 by the fiscal year-end (August 31st). That means $ 411.00 per day, every day until August 31, 2014!

“Toronto’s performing arts industry currently lacks a united presence on mobile devices”, said TAPA Executive Director Jacoba Knaapen, “this is where TAPA can help elevate the entire sector with one mobile APP”. The APP will give Torontonians and tourists an easy-to-use, on-the-go way of finding out Who, What, Where and When performances are happening around them. The APP will also streamline the purchasing of tickets making it easy to attend live theatre, dance, and opera via T.O.TIX Toronto’s One Stop Ticket Shop.

T.O.TIX Booth, located at Yonge-Dundas Square, sells thousands of theatre, opera and dance shows annually PLUS sells comedy, special events, concerts and sports (including Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs & Marlies, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC Soccer, and Toronto Argos). T.O.TIX is now the third largest Ticketmaster outlet in Ontario and is THE place to buy tickets in Toronto!

The APP helps everyone! Donate today! Please help us achieve our goal by making a FWYC donation HERE
