The Spur-Of-The-Moment Shakespeare Collective is back after a successful production of “Julius Caesar Project” to showcase this year’s Shakespeare-In-Hospitals Project the at the Imperial Pub October 2nd and 3rd. Actors will share cabaret-style performances of scenes and soliloquies to be taken on the road this fall, whilst previous performers will provide heart-warming stories of their own experiences in the program.
The Shakespeare-In-Hospitals Project provides arts engagement as distraction and relief to patients, clients, and communities in hospitals, hospices, senior residences and shelters throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Performances of Shakespearean scenes, monologues, and choral pieces are developed and performed for audiences in atriums, cafeterias, waiting rooms, and even in patients’ rooms throughout the year.
The 2014 ensemble feature’s JULIUS CAESAR PROJECT’s, “fabulously tough and unusually dark” Erin Eldershaw and Emma Burns (myentertainmentworld.ca), Erin Roche, Andrew Gaunce, Ale House Theatre’s Andrea Massoud, and Wilex Ly. This all-star cast is directed by an equally all-star list of directors, including Shakespeare-In-The-Ruff’s Andrew Joseph Richardson, Good Old Neon’s 2014 Toronto Fringe’s New Play Winner Alexander Offord, FringeKids Frequent Kyle Villeneuve, Good Old Neon’s Nicole Wilson, Theatre Brouhaha’s Tom McGee, and the SOTMSC’s, Victoria Urquhart.
