Develop your talents as a singer, dancer, and actor through equal focus on each of these three important disciplines of musical theatre. One of the best ways to learn is by doing, and in this class the emphasis is on the excitement of combining all these elements to create excerpts from Broadway style shows. The class is divided into three half hour segments.
The acting portion of the class uses drama games, improvisation, and scene work to prepare for working with scripted material. In vocal classes, students learn some basic music theory, and technique, and the group dynamic provides the opportunity to work on harmonies and choral music as well as other repertoire. During the dance segment, we focus on choreography, learning movement for the stage as well as some jazz style basics as we put the show together. Taught by Linette Doherty and Erynn Brook.
