DEVISED THEATRE LAB
FEBRUARY 2 to APRIL 20, 2015
MONDAY NIGHTS 6-10PM

THEATRE COLUMBUS INVITES EMERGING (AND RE-EMERGING) ARTISTS TO BE PART OF A DEVISED THEATRE WORKSHOP
HOW IT WORKS:
8 -10 artists will be invited to gather on Monday nights for four months to create a collection of short performance works. The idea is that the pieces become yours to own; to stand-alone or to be the seed of full-length piece or a larger collaborative project.
We will be diving into the creative cupboards of some of the greatest and goofiest minds in this type of work – Lecoq, Gaulier, Theatre Complicite, John Wright, Anne Bogart, Spy Monkey and Keith Johnstone.
The work of this small company will culminate in a performance at Theatre Columbus’ 30th anniversary celebration in April 2015.
The collective will be led by artistic director Jennifer Brewin and associate artists, Courtenay Stevens and Amy Lee (Moro and Jasp).
Monday nights starting February 2nd, 2015
Location TBA (Toronto)
No cost to enrol
TO GET INVOLVED:
Write a statement of interest (maximum 500 words). This statement should include the following:
- Why this program fits your artistic goals
- A brief description of your own practice
- An indication of how you will commit the time to this program
Add your resume and/or a letter of reference from a practitioner in the field
Email your package to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note, only those contacted will be brought in for an audition/interview.
