Call for Submissions: Singer/Actors, Theatre Technicians and Production Crew – 2015 Tour, The Caravan Stage Company

The Caravan Stage Company, a Canadian non-profit professional theatre company founded in 1970, is looking for male and female singer/actor as well as four production artists for an original experimental opera called ‘Hacked: the Treasure of the Empire’.

Minorities are encourage to apply. ‘Hacked’ will tour the East Coast of the US and Lake Ontario & St Lawrence River in Canada, starting in Brooklyn, NY. The Caravan is a theatre company that travels and performs on it’s own 30 meter/90 ft traditional Sailing Ship, creating original experimental theater/opera encompassing the themes of human and political rights, social and environmental justice. The cast and crew live, work, and sail on the Caravan’s theater ship, the Amara Zee.
The performance is staged on the decks and in the rigging with original music, singing, aerial artistry, large scenic elements manipulated by the performers, video art projected on scrims and screens during the performance. This year, the show will be built and rehearsed in Brooklyn with a dedicated international crew of creative artists and designers.
Caravan Stage Company is a non-profit organization,  providing a room and board plus a small stipend and all travel expenses from Canada and back. This is an exhilarating performing, traveling, sailing and living adventure! Learn how to sail and see America from the waterways of US & Canada.
