Playwrights Guild of Canada will host its second Director/Playwright Exchange on Monday February 24th, 2014, from 6-8PM in the Board Room at Playwrights Guild of Canada’s NEW office, 401 Richmond, Suite 350, in Toronto, ON. Ten directors and ten playwrights will be selected to attend. All participants will have an opportunity to talk briefly about what kind of work inspires them and how they like to collaborate. The Director/Playwright Exchange is a new initiative by Playwrights Guild of Canada inspired by Dramatists Guild of America. The Exchange held on January 20th was a major success, and therefore PGC will execute this project once again.
Interested Directors should submit TWO paragraphs (no longer than 250 words each). The first should be a brief Bio, outlining your professional accomplishments to date. The second should be a personal Statement of Purpose, sharing your own artistic passions. This should be written in the first-person and should offer a window into your unique artistic point of view. Why you are a Director? What sort of work excites you? etc. Participation is strictly limited to no more than 10 Directors and will be selected on a first come-first selected basis. Directors must submit the two paragraphs before 11:59PM before February 10th, 2014. Interested Directors are encouraged to forward their information to Charlie Andrews, Program & Services Coordinator at Playwrights Guild of Canada by email: firstname.lastname@example.org. All of the Directors will be notified by February 11th, 2014.
